Gene's Inspiration

For years I have been reading Grisham, Baldacci, and Cussler. Now, after reading The Deed, Boffa is my main man. This lawyer knows the streets. His hero, Mac Daniels, is as streetwise and tough a spy as you will meet in any man's novel. Mac makes Dirk Pitt look like a sissy. Boffa's plot has more twists, turns, and intricacies than any three action-intrigue novels combined. His characters are more colorful, more complex, sexier, and more unpredictable than any character I have encountered on the Times Best Sellers List. This is a "must read" for anyone looking to leave their life behind and take a wild ride through Hong Kong with the world's coolest spy. We need another Mac Daniels novel now, Mr. Boffa!
Anthony V. Bastardi, Chairman and CEO of Strategic Development Group

Boffa's Mac Daniels takes readers through a labyrinth of Hong Kong intrique and brings us home safe and satisfied via a wonderfully creative conclusion to The Deed, a must read novel.
Rae Lindsay, author of The Presidents' First Ladies

Well written with unexpected turns in an exciting plot. I enjoyed the read and recommend it to my friends. Gene Boffa has an extraordinary talent for capturing our attention and holding it.
Honorable Frank J. Guarini, Former Member of U.S. Congress.

Eugene Boffa is a marvelous story teller, he constantly keeps the reader enthralled, once you begin the deed you will be unable to put it down.
The Honorable Marie L. Garibaldi.

Gene Boffa's The Deed is that rarest of thrillers-a novel with both brains and heart that will keep your pulse pounding right up to the spell-binding end. A roller-coaster ride that you shouldn't miss.
Warren Murphy, Two-time Edgar Award Winner and NY TIMES Best-selling author

The Deed is an intricate maze of twists and turns that will keep readers guessing right up until the last suspenseful page.
James Mullaney, author The New Destroyer

If you like Ian Fleming's 007, introduce yourself to Mac Daniels in THE DEED, by Eugene R. Boffa, Jr. Action, Sex, Intrigue and more action in an exotic location make this thriller hard to put down. Put on your seat belt and take the ride.
Joseph Gerard, author of Vengeance is Mine

Hypnotizing.....Couldn't put it down......great story
Harold McCormick author of Street Cop.

With it's Byzantine labyrinth of characters, plot lines and twists, "The Deed" delivers all you'd expect from a taut action/spy thriller, but adds a cerebral element that underscores those traditions while taking away none of their thunder. Fast paced yet thoughtful, a solid first effort from Gene Boffa.

The Deed grabs you from the first sentence and totally immerses you into a myriad quagmire of patriots, scoundrels, murderers, sex sirens and a cast of espionagic enigmas. The novel reads like a movie - hot-blooded and cool thinking - a surprise intercourse of treachery and valor. Looking forward to the next one while continuing to savor this one!!!!

The book was very entertaining. The ending came out of left field, I was surprised. I liked the opening proverbs.
George Campen, Esq.

Gene Boffa's The Deed will keep you in suspense with many interesting twists and turns that lead to a surprise ending! The author demonstrated his ability to weave fact and fiction, resulting in a very believable and suspenseful story line.

The Deed was easy to read and cleverly written. It has a captivating story line and all of the pieces of the puzzle come together in a very unexpected, yet satisfying way.
Marie Mangin

Gene, enjoyed the book immensely. Great job! As I read it, I kept thinking, "I know the guy who wrote this!" I usually can only find time to read a book on vacation, but The Deed kept me awake past my bedtime for several nights!! You tired an old guy out.
Barry Maltzman M.D.

Thank you in advance for accepting my thoughts on a novel that accomplishes what must avid readers look for, to be brought to another place and possibly time. The deed did both for me, on a plane trip to and from California, it made flying coach tolerable. Mac Daniels is without a doubt what every alpha male, young or old fantasizes about being. What sets Mac Daniels aside from the other chandestine, spy type characters, is his realism in confronting his adversaries, eliminate them, throw in a little humiliation, and do a good clean up job. I expect Mac Daniels to be around for along time and I’m glad he’s on our side. Thank you so much, the story was a gift and I look forward to hearing from Mac Daniels again.

A great story, intriguing, hard to put down, well-written, good descriptions, it flows nicely, easy to visualize. I really enjoyed it. A fun book to read.

It was very entertaining; I couldn’t put it down. I like the characters. Great twist. I was really fooled. I heartily recommended it to all my friends.
Silvana T.

I read it twice. I loved it. It was hard to stop reading once you start.
Wanda C.

I loved it. This would be a great movie. Mac Daniels is the great American hero.
Eddie S.

My kind of book, action with a thought. A great hero, you got to love Mac, a must read. This should be a movie.
Ron S.

This story is too good not to be read. It has everything, weapons of mass destruction, beautiful woman, mystery, romance, and when you put it together it makes a great story.
Bob C.

I started to read it on the plane ride to Florida and I couldn’t stop reading it. I was the last one off the plane. The Deed is a non-stop action thriller, with a great double twist. I would love to see it as a movie. Mac and Astrid make a great love story in the mix of intrigue and espionage.
Sara F.

A real page-turner, I couldn’t put it down.
Pat B.

Well-written, intelligent, original and captivating from the first page to the last. Bravo Mr. Boffa! Please bring Mac back. Definitely a reader's author and novel!
Ann Marie D.

"The Deed" is a serpentine clockwork thriller, taught, timely, enthrallingly detailed. Sharp and pointed; it is indeed a master chess game, whose proverbs at each chapter opening foretell not just a thing or two about the ensuing chapter, but about the premise of life, thought over centuries upon centuries of Chinese wisdom.
Toby R.

Have just finished The Deed! What a great read.
Judy De M.

Couldn't put down your book last night. It should be on the NY Times best seller list. Great. Seriously.
Mike T.

I'm impressed! A timely, intelligent international thriller, action packed with valuable wisdom and chess like strategy! This is what happens when power, greed and age old wisdom come together. Excellent!
Stephen Walker

The Deed is a wonderful travel or late night companion. Filled with intrigue and suspense, it's difficult for the reader to put it down once you've turned to the first page. My only regret about this book is that it has an end. I am a fan of Mac Daniels and I anxiously await his next adventure.
Virgil P.

The Deed is a fascinating and suspenseful novel with a story that unfolds with cinematic precision. Undoubtedly, it transcends the typical spy novel with its combination of intelligent plot, suspenseful action, and a great sense of humor. With The Deed, Mac Daniels is off to a great start to a long and exciting career!
Mark B.

I thought The Deed was really good. The beginning was a little slow. But when I got to the heart of the story, thats when I had a hard time putting the book down. I though the steamier scenes were done tastefully. George Clooney better do Daniels' part justice.
Michele Z.

Mac Daniels is a combination of Indiana Jones, Steven Segal and James Bond all rolled into one. Fast moving, action packed novel. I enjoyed it!
Aida J.

I enjoyed the many twists and turns, the premise was unique and well thought out, and the ending was very surprising. The book was great, and thank you for giving me the opportunity to enjoy it. I'm impressed by your ability to compile all the necessary background to make the story believable. I believe you have a winner!
Tony Anzevino

The storyline was riveting. Your ability to create a work of fiction and weave it so intelligently into the facts and circumstances surrounding the reality of the British turnover of Hong Kong to China made the book that much more exciting and credible. While waiting to see what would happen to each of the characters, I found myself wondering if there was any truth to the deed. I have been to Hong Kong twice and thought you captured its essence. I am very much looking forward to your next book.
Eric Holden Wong

The Deed is a wonderful book that brings you to a thrilling climax yet creates questions for the past present and future relative to actual history and the unique make up of characters. The use of Chinese proverbs in each chapter, just another nuance that made me want to continue and at the end I did not want to stop reading. Hence, a pleasant surprise - the epilogue which opened up just another frenzy of questions. What's next Mr.. Boffa Jr.? I can hardly wait. Great job, so well done.
Eloise

You weave an intricate story. I read a few chapters at a time. I found myself going back whenever I had a few minutes to read on. Once I started, I was hooked and had a hard time putting the book down. Tom Clancy and John Grisham have nothing over you. Both Elaine and I thoroughly enjoyed the story and look forward to the next installment. Best Regards.
Jerry Kaplan

"The Deed" was wonderful. It had everything, suspense, thrills, sex, compassion. It's the kind of book that takes you into another world. My time is limited right now, and I would forget the time when I would sit down with this book. I loved Mac Daniels. It was a true mystery. I could not guess how it would end.
Janie Caldwell

I anxiously await the new novels from Lee Child, Stephen Hunter, Harlan Coben and Barry Isler--- I now have added Eugene Boffa to that list.
Rick Pumill, MD

After the first hundred pages I found the story picking up speed. I liked the way the author interwove the different aspects in the overall story and the characters. From the detailed accounts it seems the author is familiar with Hong Kong. Good read. I will certainly spread the word.
Bob C.

Thanks for a great read and some very exciting moments in Hong Kong. It didn't hurt that I have been on almost every street you mentioned, (can't picture the Water St. address.) but that just added to the enjoyment. I cannot imagine how you came up with the adventure, twists and turns and ultimate surprise ending; but it was all thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks again,
John G.
PS looking forward to the next adventure

Mr. Boffa has created quite a character in Mac Daniels. He's smart, rugged, and definitely doesn't play by the rules. I found myself unable to put the book down, following this man and his unorthodox style across the globe, from the jungles of Colombia to the streets of downtown Hong Kong. I would highly recommend this for anyone interested in suspenseful thrillers. Can't wait for the next adventure!
